The Plan for an Awesome Music Video

 Props:

The list of props required for this music video is not very long. The main prop needed is a cell phone, as most of the video is a phone call between the two main actors. The only other minor prop that will be needed is a picture frame with a picture inside.

Costumes:

We would like to keep a portion of the 2000’s essence present in the song alive, so our costumes will try to mimic the clothing trends from that era. This includes baggy clothes and non-modern brands. Adrian will wear lighting jewelry, specifically a thing chain and studs, to follow the typical male get-up criteria. Slow R&B songs focused more on emotions and themes of love, so flashy items to show off wealth are not a focus. Adriana will wear mostly natural-looking make-up, still glam but not too flashy. It’s more natural for her character to not be in full glam make-up because she is sitting at home. However, the make still must be prominent, as females in R&B videos are portrayed as perfect and more desirable. The hair and make-up will also follow the same rules, not too flashy because of the character's location but still prominent.

Schedule:

11/10/21: Our group will do the research for the music video.

11/15/21-11/19/21: Our group will complete the story board.

11/17/21 and 11/28/21: Our group will film the scene for the music video.

11/21/21-12/10/21Our group will edit and finalize the music video.

Location list:

The location of the music video will be Adriana’s neighborhood and house; specifically, her bedroom and a lake just outside of the house. The bedroom was picked for the main girl in the music video because it seemed like the best setting for someone is overthinking and conflicted about their love life. A bedroom is a secure, personal place that most people isolate themselves in when dealing with personal issues. Furthermore, the lake area was picked for the main guy in the music video to be singing at. This area was chosen because it is mostly isolated and as close to a plain background as we can maintain within the circumstances. It is a common trend, in R&B videos, for a singer to be singing in a plain, open area to emphasize the character’s presence and allow their audience to focus on the message they are trying to convey.

Backup Plan:

We will be filming outside; so, if it happens to rain, we will reschedule and film another day. Additionally, if we run into problems filming in the main room (Adriana’s), we will film the respective scenes in a room at Adrian’s house. The other possible obstacles include technical issues, like phones, lights, and speakers running out of battery. However, these won’t be a major issue because chargers, extra batteries, and extra equipment will be on standby just in case.
