Close Call!

Today was the last day my partner and I would have the opportunity to complete our music video. The time passed us by so quick. I feel like this project was just assigned to us recently. But nevertheless, I’ve definitely grown from and enjoyed every step of the process.

Adrian and I used the same method for editing as we did last time, which was alternating the editor every few minutes. Adrian was the main editor, but when he needed a break I would take over and complete editing some scenes. I also did this when Adrian didn’t understand my vision very clearly, which saved time and confusion. Additionally, I made sure to keep the group on schedule and make sure the video is completed today.

In the last day of editing, my partner and I began in our first period class. Our teacher gave us an independent study period to complete any missing work, so we took this opportunity to edit. At first, this started out rocky because there were many distractions, specifically other students making disruptions. This made it hard to focus because we couldn’t hear the song and synch the actor’s singing. After the class settled down we worked more efficiently on the video, but only completed about half of it. I was afraid we wouldn’t have enough time to complete the video after 1st period, so I suggested Adrian come to my second period, which is my study hall. This decision assisted us greatly and our goal of completing the music video today was met.

I would at the hardest obstacle to tackle during editing was matching the actor’s lip synching to the music. It was a new thing i had to figure out and consider because the previous project didn’t have this feature. It was difficult because of something was editing during the video, the timing would be off for everything after. Our first filming day, this mistake was made often and became very frustration. Today, we were more aware and kept this fact in mind, which saved us a tremendous amount of time.
