A Change Of Plans

 Uh oh, something came up!

Since the three of us are so busy during the regular school year, we decided to film during spring break. It would be easier because there would be any school activities and the only obstacle would be Faith's job. However, Faith got accepted to go on a college tour during spring break. She applied for it a long time ago and just found out she is allowed to go. We are all so happy for her, but this now means we can't film on our original date. This is no big deal, but we had to move some things around to make this work!

I have a lot of events planned for my spring break that I did not plan to be home for. I have plans to go to the beach, a band event, and even a play to go to. Faith's first filming suggestion was the first Monday of spring break, March 21st. However, I have a competition for band that if I miss, I'll have to pay a drop-out fee. I suggested the Friday we leave school, March 18th, but Faith will be on the college tour. Faith suggested the Monday after spring break, March 28th, because we have a day off of school. However, our group thought this would be too last minute since school starts again the next day. We were worried we couldn't finish filming that day and would have to film after spring break. This would put us severely behind schedule. I finally decided I could cancel a plan with my friends to film the morning of Wednesday, March 23rd, because I didn't want faith to have to take off of work any other day. We would film Wednesday and use Monday, the 28th, as a back-up day in case we don't film everything. Adrian was good with this plan because he didn't have any football practice or family trips. In the end, we were able to figure out the best plan that works for all of us!

Genre Research: It Chapter Two

  After watching It Chapter Two, we noticed a variety of elements that umbrella the horror genre. This movie had tracking shots, point of view shots, tilts, pans, and close ups. We all enjoyed the close ups and tracking shots because it created a chilling suspense towards it. Whenever the clown was making an appearance the close up on him made it very frightening. For example, when Bill was stuck in the House of Mirrors at the carnival with the clown the close ups made it very scary. As you saw the clown repeatedly bang is head into the mirrors vividly, it drew my attention and made us feel as if we were apart of the movie. The fear really creeps in when you believe you are in that character's position. Additionally when It the clown arrives there is always a non diegetic sound that associates with him. Final Film Review

 In our last film review, I had my history teacher, Ms. Moran, look over the first draft of our film. It wasn't complete and was missing much of the components like sound, music, and transitions. However, she gave us some critiques that I kept in mind while editing our final project.  One of her critiques were the inconsistencies in the lighting. In order to fix this, Adrian and I went through each scene and put a filter or color over the scenes to make them match as best as possible. After doing this, the scenes looked more consistent and smoother. Ms. Moran also told us that the cup didn't look like it was filled with blood. To fix this, we met back up to film a few more shots that would display the blood better. We filmed a point-of-view shot of Faith looking down to the cup. We also filmed a scene where we dropped red food coloring on the plate to give the effect of blood. After we went back and fixed these components, we decided to show Ms. Moran again. Planning Our Horror Film

 Location:   We will be filming at my house (Adriana's). My room matches the description of the room in our script and I also have all the props we need: dolls, teapots, and clothes.  Participants:   The actor for this film will be me (Adriana). The cameraman will be Faith and the editor will be Adrian. I'm probably the best choice to be the actor because all the costumes belong to me and are my size. Adrian is tech savvy and good with editing, so he will be the main editor. That leaves Faith to handle the camera! Health and Safety:   This film has little risks, but there is one. In one scene, we have a tea kettle go off on the stove and we will be handling hot water to get shots of steam. We've researched what the first aid procedure for a burn is and it says to run the burn under cold water and bandage it. We are filming near my kitchen, so we'll have a sink near-by.
