We Meet Again

 I have decided to work with Adrian, the partner I worked with on the previous project. We had a fun time working together last time, so we decided to team up again.

Adrian and I have known each other since we were in fifth grade, so I know we would work well together. I know he is a hard working person who tries his best to get his assignments done and keep up with his grades. We also have worked on previous class assignments and were successful.

Adrian is very good with technology and computers, specifically editing. I know this because he has a YouTube channel, which requires some sort of editing and filming skill to produce. When I watched his YouTube videos, I was amazed by his video's quality because I could never accomplish anything like that. 

To my surprise, he didn’t only want to work behind the scenes. He decided that he wants to be on camera for the music video. When we worked together for the commercial, he wasn’t originally supposed to be acting and wanted to be behind the camera. It didn’t work out that way because there was a change in circumstances. But, I guess he enjoyed acting more than I thought!

We will most likely be splitting the work for each step in the production process, such as filming, acting, and acting. In the last project, we found it was better if we work together on each step, rather than assigning a step to each person. Of course, these roles are not set in stone. The circumstances may be different for this project since we have to film outside of school. We may to have to make accommodations.

We have already begun brainstorming ideas for our song choice. Our three top choices are Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne, Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus, and Meet Me Halfway by the Black Eyed Peas. I love all of these songs and can’t wait to begin this music video!

Genre Research: Us

  I just watched US, directed Jordyn Peele, as a part of my genre research. After researching the codes and conventions for the horror genre, I couldn't help but spot a lot of them in this movie. This movie used costumes to differentiate between the good guys and the villain's. When the audience sees someone wearing a red jumpsuit, they knew who was the doppelganger. This detail becomes important towards the end of the movie, when the mom's reveal that their roles are switched. Lighting is an important factor in creating the movie's suspense. Dark, creepy lighting sparks fear in the audience because of the potential dangers in the shadows. The actors also don't know what's lurking in the shadows too, so the audience feeds off of the actor's "fear." I also thought the use of minimal make-up in the movie was a different approach, since many horror movies use make-up for ghosts and ghouls. Starting My Final Task

 It's finally here, the final task! With my commercial and music video done and over with, I feel pumped up for this task. I have been informed that the final task will the first two minutes of a movie. When I heard this, I got a little nervous because I heard a few terms I am not familiar with. One thing I wasn't familiar with was a pitch. I learned that a pitch is a Hollywood term used to describe a film in about 25 words or less. I also learned that another name for this is an elevator pitch because many people would catch producers on their way up an elevator and would only have an elevator ride's time to pitch their idea. Another term I was unfamiliar with was a title design. They are basically the opening sequence of a film that includes the titles of the production team and actors.
